Vacation + Will = FUN!
Hey everyone!
I'm back from my awesome vacation to LA with Will! We had an action-packed week, filled with adventures at the beaches, Disneyland, Hollywood, and the San Diego Zoo (plus one low-key day of a moviefest at Lynn's house).
I got loot, pictures, drooled on and hugged a lot by my nephew, quality time with my sis who's obsessed with my hair, and a sinus infection.
The loot:
The pictures:
RobbieMax took Will on a little shopping trip before we left and got him a really nice digital camera! So we used Will's camera and Will took about 143 pictures! There are some good ones of us, but most of the pictures were taken at the zoo. (I didn't know that someone could take 10 pictures of a Jaguar alone!) Will did a great job with these pics. If I can figure out how to download them onto my computer and figure out how to post them on my blog, I'll put some of 'em up here.
The Drool and Hugs:
My nephew, DJ, is SO CUTE! He will be 3 in June. He's talking up a storm and absolutely LOVED Will. Will was great and even put up with the drool (which kind of grosses him out). I was so proud of my son.
Anyway, DJ is fun. He wanted to know every street we were driving on ("This street is call-ed..." [he draws that out into two syllables]). Oh man! He was fun to watch. He squeals when he gets excited and really knows how to give a sloppy kiss. I love that little guy!
Quality time with my sis:
I really miss Lynn already. It was so fun to spend that time with her. She's one of the greatest people I know. We had fun conversations on our way to everywhere. And for some reason she's really obsessed with my hair. Remember that I told y'all a while ago how it's naturally wavy now? Well, Lynn couldn't stop commenting and playing with my hair. She's insanely jealous of me because she has stick-straight hair. I am the only one of us three sisters who inherited our dad's naturally curly hair. It took 30 years for it to happen, but I'll go with it. Needless to say, my dad is proud.
The sinus infection:
Yep. I inevitably get sick when I go on vacation. It's the let-down from all the stress. I've been working from home today and am now ready to shut down the computer before I crash in bed. I spent yesterday sleeping and watching movies. A quality sick day. Lynn said, "They're never going to let you come back to LA! You get sick every time you come!" Which is kind of true...
I got sick on Sunday and had such a sore throat! I barely wanted to talk, so we had our moviefest and I dozed the whole day. Then on Monday while we were at the zoo, I lived on DayQuil. Then we flew home on the red-eye on Tuesday morning. (That's another post!)
Cynthia- I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to call you. We were so busy and then I got sick. I'll call you soon, okay?
Okay. My brain is fried, my nose is leaking, and my head hurts. Time for a nap. I'll post again soon!

The loot:
- A cool T-shirt from Disneyland that has something to do with Pirates of the Caribbean (ARGH!). We went through the ride and saw that they added a lot in from the movies, including very life-like animatronic Jack Sparrows (in several scenes). Oh, and BTW - the last installment to the film trilogy, Pirate's of the Caribbean: At World's End, is coming out on May 25. Guess who will see it opening night?
- A great beach bag (complete with insulated compartment) from the Santa Monica Pier.
- A wind-up figurine of Cinderella and her Prince dancing from the Disney Store in Hollywood (yeah I know - nothing Hollywood-y about it).
- A baseball cap (dark green, of course) that has Los Angeles on it and a pair of running pants with Venice beach across the butt from you guessed it- Venice Beach.
- A T-shirt and keychain from the San Diego Zoo.
