Na na na na na na, You Say it's Your Birthday!
Na na na na na na, it's my birthday too! Or should I say, anniversary? I'm not sure which to call it.
Anyway, at this time exactly 2 years ago, I was in the ICU, recovering from my open heart surgery that morning.
Yepper, folks, two years ago today, I got my pig valve. So I'm never sure if I should call July 14 my heart's anniversary or birthday. I think Will said it best today, "Mom, it's your Heart Day!" I like that.
Today is my Heart Day.
And how am I spending my Heart Day, you ask? Well, I am partaking in my two fave consumptions - red wine and dark chocolate - and hanging out with my two fave guys (of course I'm referring to RobbieMax and Will - who did you think I was referring to, Johnny Depp and, um, Johnny Depp?), and watching the Home Run Derby on ESPN. (Go Justin Morneau!) And no, I'm not consuming any byproducts of pigs, but I did have 4 pieces of bacon with breakfast yesterday morning.
And once the Home Run Derby is done (go, Justin Morneau!), I plan to watch one of my latest shows, Legally Blonde - the Search for Elle Woods on MTV. Yeah, I know that it's quite a contrast, but I like the movie and I like musicals, so there. But I'll need to tell you about my NEW TV obsession soon. (It really is an obsession, so there's your fair warning.) Here's your first hint - Fact: this is the funniest show on TV.
So I know that I owe you a huge update, and I will deliver. I promise. I plan to post everything I've been doing since January 22 this weekend. Well, maybe not everything. Just the highlights. I don't know that you want to know, for example, what I wore to work today. But be prepared.
Tonight I thought it was important to just let y'all know that I'm still alive. Bob the Pacer and I are still kickin'.
