I Wasn't on the Bridge
Hello all-
I was going to post about my new razor tonight, but that will have to wait for a future post.
Like many people, I've been glued to the Internet and the news on TV since the 35W Bridge in Minneapolis collapsed yesterday evening. Lucky for me, I live in the southern suburbs, and do not take that bridge. (But that didn't stop relatives and friends from calling last night to check that we were okay. Yes, we are loved.) And no one I know was on the bridge when it collapsed. And I am SO thankful for that.
But that doesn't keep me from feeling as if I knew the people who were on the bridge. I am still in shock that a disaster of this magnitude could have happened in my hometown. I can't believe that the images I'm seeing on TV and the Internet are so close to the building where I work that I have seen it in many shots of the bridge. It's surreal.
I honestly don't know what else to say tonight except this: please pray for the injured and the families of the injured, deceased, missing, and all of us affected by this tragedy, whether we knew someone involved or not. We can use your prayers.
Julia
